Pasang Lamu Sherpa was the first Nepalese woman to climb Everest, in 1993. Unfortunately, she died on the descent. Since then, she has become a national heroine. After her adventure, many Nepalese women broke the "glass wall" that represented confronting their culture and family in order to fulfill their dreams.
