Jagat Lama promises his dying father to bring medical care to the village of Kumari, located in rural Nepal. Together with some childhood friends, he creates a company of trekking guides, whose profits serve to develop a self-sustaining community that includes basic electricity, a women's skills workshop, a local school, a working community farm and a medical hospital.
