In the remote and desert valley of Zanskar, in the Himalayas, the population has always been supplied by the glaciers that, melting during the spring, provided the amount of water necessary for cultivation and life. Today, in an unequal battle against climate change, the Ladakhi people are building artificial glaciers to counteract spring water shortages and contribute to the replenishment of underground water reservoirs.
