In June 1986, Patrick Gabarrou and Hervé Bouvard opened the Directísima Walker on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, a masterpiece of difficulty on a large wall of 1200m. Since then no one has repeated it. In February 2023, three French mountaineers attempt to free climb it and make the first winter ascent of this route. This is the story of Charles Dubouloz, Symon Welfringer and Clovis Paulin, after spending five days in this giant freezer.
