In recent years we can see how the mountains are turning, before our eyes, into an immense sports field. Mountaineering has become a consumer good like any other. Everest is the highest landfill in the world. The new climbers have invaded the 8,000-meter peaks, the mountains are being urbanized and pollution is being generated that is causing an inexorable collapse of life.
